Whores can be victims too (Updated)

BobsNewsflash[1],jpgI didn’t know this, but apparently the California victims compensation program specifically excludes sex workers from benefits.  An organization called U S PROstitutes is working with the ACLU to get this administrative regulation overturned.  Just thought you might want to know that there is a couple of organizations out there looking out for working girls.  I wonder if they can get workers comp when they get VD?

UPDATE:  The Victim’s Compensation Board did in fact overturn the rule.  Now sex workers are eligible to file claims.

Judging by the headline, you are conflating whores, loose women, with prostitutes who trade sex for compensation. Does this ruling apply to all women who are sexually active outside of marriage or is it specific to sex workers?

    • Bob Walsh says:

If I read the scanty material currently available, it applies only to commercial sex trade workers, people who engage in sexual activity for money.

Yep, you’re right Bob. The bartering system does not apply in this matter. Sex for drugs, sex for material objects like jewelry and cars or even oil changes. Hell, when the other shoe drops you’ll have wives of impotent men filing too. I wonder if that would work the other way around for the guys or does that just constitute fraud or perjury?

kl, sex for oil changes? Now that’s a new one for me. And what about the wives of men who are not impotent? They screw around too.

That impotent bit reminds me of a time when I was on an out-of-town trip not so long ago. I was sitting in the hotel bar when this gorgeous blonde slides up next to me. After a brief conversation and an agreement on the price, we went up to my room. We got in bed and after a while, she says to me, “You’re important.” Important? I couldn’t figure out why she said that so I asked her why she thought I was important. She replied, “Not important. Impotent! Impotent, you old fart.”

As that big fat jolly pimp in red costume would say when he called his 3 “ladies of the night” – Ho, Ho, Ho! Now, as for hookers getting $$ from the Victim’s Compensation Fund my take on it is this: The fund wasn’t set up to be scammed. If they want $$ from the fund then they should be required to report the “rape” to the police and assist them in identifying, arresting the perpetrator and the following prosecution. From the context of the story, the prostitutes could file a claim for $$ from the fund just because a john stiffed them. If a pimp beat or raped them then they need to go to the cops and report it. After they’ve done that, maybe, just maybe, I’d consider letting them file their claim.
