Videos show action behind the scene, shooting
3 shots, 3 hits, 1 pacified idiot
Submitted for your approval are 2 videos, the soundtrack being badly out of sync, of the shooting of an armed man in a North Park, Utah hospital lobby. 2 views are provided: the lobby where the shooting happened and the back office from where parole agents verbally engaged the suspect, summoned police and planned their response.
Two parole agents were at the hospital providing security over an offender being treated there. The suspect, 34 year old Justin Burr, entered the lobby armed with 2 handguns, a 9mm semi-auto and a .38-caliber Derringer. He appeared to be emotionally distraught, demanding the staff behind the security door come out.
Burr repeatedly claimed he wanted help. At the same time, he yelled, “Someone is going to die today.” There were no other people in the room.
Four minutes into the lobby-cam video, Parole Agent Clint Lund entered the lobby through the front door, gun drawn. Burr turned and pointed the 9mm at the agent who promptly fired 3 rounds. Burr was shot in the left arm, groin and chest. Once Burr’s weapons were secured, medical staff responded and he was wheeled to the ER. He is expected to fully recover.
Given the video evidence, Lund’s actions were deemed justified.
Burr faces charges of attempted aggravated robbery, aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon, purchase and use of a firearm by a restricted person and carrying a concealed, dangerous and loaded weapon.
Kudos to Agent Lund and his unnamed partner for a job well done. Thanks to their actions, nobody died, nullifying Burr’s threat.
