There is a new superintendent at the Ventura Youth Correctional Facility in Camarillo, effective today (Thursday). Vic Almager is out and Cynthia Brown is in.
No one is commenting on the circumstances of this change. Bill Sessa, mouthpiece for CDCr, said that the facility “needed a change in management.” I remember Alamager tolerably well from DVI. I liked him and thought well of him. I believe that sentiment was pretty standard there at the time.
The facility currently houses 275 men and 25 women. Almager has been in charge for about two years. Cynthia Brown has been the Assistant Superintendent for about nine months.
