katz-litter4Houston pothead accidentally kills friend while reloading gun

Jeremiah James Pipkins, 17, was sitting in the rear seat of a parked car in southeast Houston Saturday afternoon.  There were three other young men in the car.  He pulled out a pistol, unloaded it and showed it to his friends. They passed the gun around among themselves before handing it back to Pipkins.  While he was reloading the gun … kapow … it went off with the bullet striking Chazz Jenkins, 27, in the back as he was sitting in the front passenger seat of the car.

Pipkins and the other rear seat passenger beat feet.  The driver called for help but Jenkins had croaked by the time paramedics arrived.

The police report that Pipkins had been smoking pot just before the shooting took place.

Pipkins was charged with manslaughter and jailed on $30,000 bail.

OK, let’s hear it again:  Pot is less dangerous than alcohol.

  1. FXSTC1 says:

Scientist are considering this to be a “lucky shot” for obvious reasons. One of them is that you need to be much closer to your target to make your shot while under the influence of pot.

  2. Bob Walsh says:

Clearly the gun manufacturer is at fault for not putting in a User Age Sensor interface so that the gun would know the user was not legally entitled to possess the gun. Sue the gun manufacturer. Sue the gun seller. Sue the car manufacturer for not having bullet-resistant seat backs. Sue EVERYBODY except the lame bastard who pulled the trigger, because he doesn’t have any money.

    • Howie Katz says:

Bob, you forgot to mention that the pot grower, the pot distributor, and the dealer who sold Pipkins the pot should also be sued. But why stop there? Why not also sue the parents who conceived this “lame bastard”?
