Passing of Larry Corby

tapsLong-time CCPOA mover and shaker Larry Corby died last evening.  Larry was one of the good guys.  He was a principle force behind the early success of CCPOA and was the main man with both the Correctional Peace Officer’s Foundation and with the up-and-coming National Correctional Officer’s Museum.

Clicking here will link to an earlier post by Jeff, from about five weeks back, touching on Larry’s recently diagnosed medical situation.

Larry was a good cop and an outstanding human being.  He will be sorely missed within the profession and within the association as well as by his family.  Rest in peace brother.

I knew Larry from the dinosaur days. Way back then I met him at CCOA’s first “convention”. Larry was a straight shooter and could always find something funny about anything, but eventho he’d could make you laugh about something, there was a way you knew he was serious about it. Brother, save a place for me at the big table in the sky as I’m sure we’ll meet again.
