Former Assemblyman and former Parole Agent Rudy Bermudez missed his attempt to return to the dome for the 57th Assembly District by 337 votes according to the official vote count just completed. Ian Calderon, son of Assemblyman Charles Calderon, edged him out for a spot on the November ballot. The Republican candidate, Noel Jaimes, beat them both out, with 44% of the votes cast. The total voter turnout was 21.9% of those eligible. The district has a Democrat registration majority.
