A lawyer was arrested Tuesday for smuggling drugs to her client at the Redwood City jail.

Erika Jordening, 43, of Pacifica, passed some pills to Aaron Rauls, 43, in the Maguire Correctional Facility on Bradford Street according to the San Mateo County SO.  The incident occurred during an attorney/client meeting.

Jordening was booked into the Women’s Correctional Center in Redwood City on charges of suspicion of conspiracy and bringing contraband into a jail.  She was still in custody yesterday against a $70,000 bail.  Rauls, who was in jail on drug charges, was also arrested on the same charges and is also still in custody.

Jordening was admitted to the bar 16 years ago and has had one ethics beef with the bar association on a technical competence issue.  Clicking here will link to a SFGATE piece on this story.
