Is CalSTRS about to pour money down the toilet for political correctness?

money_down_toilet-2The California State Teachers Retirement System, like CalPERS, is backed by the full faith and credit of the taxpayers of the formerly great state of California.  They have about $400 million invested with Cerberus at this time.  Cerberus is a principal owner of Bushmaster, the people who made the (legally purchased and owned) semi-automatic rifle carried by the dingdong who killed all those people in Newtown.  CalSTRS is seriously considering dumping what might otherwise be considered a good investment out of political correctness.  It might turn out to be a moot point as it seems likely that Cerberus will dump the investment itself.  Never the less I admit it bothers me that my personal money is being placed at risk on the altar of political correctness.

This is why my 457 and 401K are invested in the PCRA (Personal Choice Retirement Account) option by SPP. I refuse to let the hippy liberals invest my money in their feel-good fluffy stuff.
