Governor proposes revised fiscal year cycle

Governor Brown explains how adopting a “Venus Year” fiscal cycle, as tracked by the Mayan calendar, will simplify budget assumptions and projections. Brown promised to balance the budget “this fiscal year” once the plan is adopted. “We won’t even have to pass the budget until December 21st,” the Governor added.

Governor Brown Issues Proclamation Declaring Intent to Modify Fiscal Year Cycle

In addition to the budget proposals I have already submitted to the Legislature and presented publicly to the media, it is my intention to simplify California’s difficult budget process by adopting what we all agree is a much more accurate system: The Mayan Calendar.

I am confident we can meet our goal of reducing excessive government spending well within the roughly 52 year Venus Year, beginning on December 21st, 2012 and ending December 20, 2063.

NOW THEREFORE I, EDMUND G. BROWN JR., Governor of the State of California, do hereby proclaim the Mayan calendar to be the official fiscal date tracking system of the State.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the State of California to be affixed this 18th day of January 2012.

Completely absurd. Incredible!! I fear for the human race for our idiocy. Surely not for fear of 12/21/2012.

This is the 1st time I’ve been to this site, but, this is satire? Am I right? I hope so. Man, I used to love California, but the wingnuts have wholly dominated now in the form of Edmund’s wayward boy here.

Please note the strip at the top. Satire.

You better hope Moonbeam doesn’t see that proclamation, because if he does he’s likely to think it’s a good idea. CCPOA’s favorite candidate might even believe he actually wrote it.

It will take a lot longer than a Venus year to undo the mess this state is in. Plus the Governor knows the world will probably end on December 21 2012 so he is not serious about a balanced budget anyway!
