The department is cutting back on its housing of California inmates in out-of-state privateer housing according to a press release linked here from a MarketWire report.

The cutback next year is expected to be about 500 criminals from the current contract maximum number of 9,588 housed with CCA.  Right now there are actually about 9,200 of our criminals housed with them.
