Mainstream Media pans hearings and Dems Walk Out
The Mainstream Media generally ignored or trivialized the Congressional hearing on Benghazi yesterday. First, the two special investigators (Pickering and Mullen) assigned to review the State Department's actions in the Benghazi debacle (Accountability Review Board) were questioned about the process of gathering information, as well as how the investigation was conducted. Questioning leveled at the ARB report revealed that the investigation was anything but independent of the State Department's influence. In other words, the State Department investigated itself and found no wrong-doing. By and large, because the investigators reported their findings to Secretary Clinton first and often, much like the CIA intelligence on Benghazi was sanitized before being made public, no substantive wrong-doing was uncovered in the State Department's actions according to the ARB findings.

Then, when the parents of two of the embassy attack victims (Woods and Smith) appeared to testify, all of the Democrats (but the two ranking Democrats on the panel) staged a walk-out, and refused to listen to those testimonies. Since both parents have been openly critical of President Obama, it is believed the walk-out was staged in a symbolic show of support for the President—so much for compassion for the dead victims and their grieving families.
